Castle Of Stone
Castle Of Heart is a Castlevania-type game set during a medieval period in which you are the valiant knight, on a personal quest to save your beloved & restore order to your kingdom. Developed & published by 7Levels, this Castlevania clone has a lot of catching up to do if it ever wants to be in comparison to similar titles, let alone the great Castlevania itself.
Lack of Heart
Castle of Heart is a boring game with average everything. There is little to cover in terms of positive. Even the positives are ho-hum. The story shows promise but the game fails the story in execution. The graphics are last-generation with an emphasis on early models. Sprites are average and enemies are repetitive, save some have different weapons or a small difference in ability. The soundtrack is mediocre, adding little to the environment or moment of battle. Controls are blocky. Swinging your weapon in the midst of a pincer attack is cumbersome.
Castle of Heart showed a hint of promise when I first saw the title advertised. Yet, poor storytelling, bland graphics, along with mediocre gameplay relegate this title to the discount bin...FAST! Where Caste of Heart tries to deviate from the norm, it fails. Your character is slowly turning to stone, & only by vanquishing evil, or finding loot, can you stave off turning to complete stone. At some point in the game, you may feel as I did; to simply run through each level, from save point to save point, in a new quest to finish the game as quickly as possible to move on.
Overall

The Nintendo Switch is a hot commodity right now. Castle of Heart looked to cash in with an exclusive Switch release, yet with numerous other titles available, Castle of Heart appears dated, repetitive, & lacking of a soul that helps players attach to titles. Though this is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Castle of Heart would’ve fared better as a cross-platform title with its generic gameplay, boring playthrough, & lackluster replay. My advice, spend your dollars elsewhere. You will thank me for it. Your opinion counts too. Let me know what you think if you have played this title.
